I haven't been much of a blogger in the past, but with so much going on in our lives, I thought this might be the easiest way for friends and family to keep up with what's going on.
In the past few weeks, our family has been completely stressed out with the custody battle we face thanks to Cristian's dad and step-mother. We've had our first court appearance, but not much happened. Cristian's dad showed up with not only their attorney, but a counselor and a nutritionist to testify, I'm guessing, against us. Their move caught the judge off guard and decided to reschedule to give everyone the opportunity to prepare for these testimonials. So, now we have to go back again in a couple of weeks.
I'm still certain that we have a great chance at proving this is a frivolous suit and that Cristian's wishes to live in Austin should be respected, especially since he'll be 15-yrs. old in November.
Aside from that, our family is busy with Cristian's first year in high school, which includes a starting spot on the freshman football team. (woo hoo!). And of course, keeping up with little Lukas' super fast growing abilities.
To give you guys a glimpse of Mr. Lukas in action, here is a video clip taken yesterday where he decided to play peek-a-boo with me and Lily. He'll be a year-old later this month and he almost has the walking thing down.
